First I will begin with giving a brief story on how I started my blog:
After reading many Stay At Home Cat Mom meme’s and finding them absolutely hilarious, Alicia decided that Stay At Home Cat Mom would be a great name for a blog and bought the domain name! After a while she began to talk about her ideas with her friend, Rose, and the two of them decided to team up and create the site together. We started out finally beginning to implement our ideas and work on our site in October of 2016, in November we opened a twitter account to begin connecting with other cat lovers.
By February 2017 we finally felt we had enough content and we were happy with the layout of our site so we decided to launch our site that month! It was one of the best decisions we’ve made. We love all the amazing people we have met along the way and are excited about the future of Stay At Home Cat Mom. In the future we hope to add more content to help others become Stay At Home Cat Moms! We are so excited for the things to come!
Next, My Advice for New Bloggers:
Consistency is Key!
Blogging with consistency is very important! – This is something we are still working on. Try to write often and keep at it. You won’t become an overnight sensation, but keeping consistent postings keep people interested in your site and keep them coming back. Use your social media as resources, even if you don’t have many fans on them to start with, staying consistent will help to gain you fans and you can use blogging support groups as a way to improve your engagement.
Easy on the Eyes
Create a blog that people want to look at. Something that is overly cluttered without any white-space is not pleasing on the eye. Many people won’t want to spend a whole lot of time on your site if it’s an eyesore. We spent a long time deciding on a layout for our blog and we tried out many different layouts before deciding on this one. In the future we might even change it. Choosing a theme is a lot like trying on clothes. It is so fun to change it up every once in a while until you find that purrfect outfit that you feel really suits you and your site.
And the nominees are….
- The Mom Kind
- Manic Mama of 3
- Casey the College Celiac

- Redmond Kids
- Curly Crafty Mom
- A Virtual Vegan
- My Moxietude
- Ginger Paws Outdoors
- My 3 Little Kittens
